Experience and Publications

Dr. Dholakia has taught at University of Illinois at Chicago, Kansas State University, and Indian Institutes of Management. He has been a Visiting Professor at Northwestern University's Kellogg School, Arizona State University West, and Chuo University in Tokyo; and a Visiting Scholar at the Norwegian Institute for Market Research. Dr.Dholakia's research deals with technology, innovation, market processes, and consumer culture. In the field of telecom and information technology, he has worked on projects dealing with Organization Buying of Telecom Systems, Global Telecom Markets, Information Technology in the Home, Technology Adoption and Diffusion Processes, and Public Policy towards Telecommunications. Dr. Dholakia's research has been published extensively in various international journals in marketing, management, public policy, and technology. Among his books are Essentials of New Product Management (Prentice-Hall, 1987), Consumption and Marketing: Macro Dimensions (South-Western, 1996), New Infotainments Technologies The Home (Erlbaum, 1996), and Consuming People (Routledge, 1998). He is a an area-editor of Consumption, Culture & Markets, an interdisciplinary journal to be launched by Gordon & Breach in 1997.
